Cbank, prosecutors said to order to pull out 25 cryptomats

MOSCOW, Sep 3 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank and the Prosecutor General’s Office have insisted on withdrawal of 25 cryptomats, machines selling cryptocurrencies for fiat money, from firm-owner BBFpro, the firm’s lawyer Sarkis Darbinyan told PRIME on Monday.

The machines were impounded in six cities. “Local prosecutors quote the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the central bank. There must have been a letter; they refer in the paper, but nobody has sent any copies,” Darbinyan said.

Cryptomats allow users to exchange cryptocurrencies, including the bitcoin, for fiat money. Such machines are connected to the Internet, and money can be immediately remitted to the crypto wallets.

According to portal CoinATMRadar, there are 79 such machines in Russia, mainly in Moscow. The law does not regulate work of such machines.
